This is a classic 1940s era silk crepe dress featuring a wonderful bow pattern printed in pink and white against a black background.  The dress has squared padded shoulders, V shaped neckline with crossover bodice, mid-forearm length sleeves with elasticized cuffs and belt decoration consisting of two wide “ties” that are connected at the front waist.  The shoulders have some smocking.  The skirt falls beautifully in drapes - the fabric has nice weight and fall.  The bottom of the dress has an added panel that is finished in fine pleating.  The dress is unlined and does up at the left side with a metal zipper.

Material: Crepe - I believe that it is a silk crepe, but it is possible that it is an old wood rayon.  Beautiful fabric in any case.  Please dry clean only to avoid possibility of shrinkage.

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a large size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking into account the style of the garment:

Shoulders:  16” across from one shoulder/sleeve seam to the other

Sleeves:  19” from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam:  12”

Bust:  40” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  31” around

Hips:  Full, 46” around, meant to fall loosely in drapes

Length:  46” measured flat

Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or other defect.  This dress has been well cared for over the years.
